A few hours to his birthday, Nigerian superstar, Davido has been selected as our artist of the week, following his return to the mainstream.
After a long while of wait, Davido and Focalistic brought Christmas early with the release of their collaborative record, “Champion Sound” which was accompanied by a clean music video as well.
The song “Champion Sound” was recorded a few months ago while Davido was in South Africa. Focalistic took his Instagram to tease the record alongside Davido; it was later sent out to DJs for some spins.
Davido and Focalistic also informed their fans that they have got a collaborative project coming soon, but “Champion Sound” was the first release. It comes after Davido added vocals to Focalistic’s smash, “Ke Star“.
Simultaneously, Davido has been all over the news this week. It started with his birthday gift request from friends, fans, associates where he raised over 200 million naira in 24 hours.
A few hours ago, Davido took over his socials announces that he will be giving out the 200 million and an additional 50 million to Orphanage homes.
Brief Biography of ‘Davido’;
David Adedeji Adeleke was born on November 21, 1992, in Atlanta, Georgia. Davido is the youngest of five siblings and his father’s second-born son. He attended the British International School in Lagos, Nigeria, and at the age of 16, he moved back to the US to study business administration at Oakwood University in Alabama.
Davido started working on his debut studio album Omo Baba Olowo in 2011. The album’s music is a mixture of Afrobeats and hip hop. Davido worked with Jay Sleek, Maleek Berry, GospelOnDeBeatz, Spellz, Dokta Frabz, Mr. Chidoo, Theory Soundz and Shizzi to produce the album.
Davido founded the record label Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) a few months after signing with Sony. Dremo, Mayorkun, Yonda and Peruzzi are currently signed to the label. – Wikipedia
